Nayarit is a state in Western Mexico. It is bounded on the north by Sinaloa, on the south by Jalisco, on the east by Durango, and on the west by Zacatecas. Its capital city is Tepic.
Nayarit has one of Mexico's most diverse climates and geography. The state is mostly mountains with small coastal plains in some regions. The climate varies from temperate to subtropical with rainforest climates found in some regions of the state such as Tepic and Los Cabos.
